ROOTS OF PROJECT NEEV
Who doesn’t love sipping hot chai from a cup? But what if that cup is plastic—the same plastic that piles up in our landfills, clogs drains, and pollutes our environment for centuries?
Now imagine replacing that plastic cup with a simple, earthy kulhad. Not only does it bring back the rustic charm of tradition, but it also vanishes back into the soil without harming it.
With this thought, Enactus Gargi started Project Neev in 2019. Our aim was simple: fight plastic pollution while reviving India’s fading pottery community. Kulhads became our first step—an eco-friendly alternative that sustains potters by creating demand for their craft and helps businesses adopt greener choices.

-
Sustainability as a way of life: Envision a future where eco-friendly living is effortless, mainstream, and accessible to all.
-
Cultural revival: Make kulhad culture a natural and celebrated part of everyday experiences, such as drinking tea.
-
Empowered artisans: Transform potters into entrepreneurs and innovators who contribute to the green economy.
-
Eco-friendly defaults: Create a world where sustainable choices are the norm, not the alternative.
-
Awareness and education: Cultivate environmental responsibility among youth, businesses, and local communities through outreach and advocacy.
